Swiss solar company Meyer Burger stops US production

The troubled Meyer Burger Technology is halting its ramp-up solar module production in the USA. In a statement released Friday night, the Swiss company blamed a lack of financial resources for the move. All remaining 282 employees at the Goodyear site in Arizona were laid off. Production was halted immediately. The future of the site remains uncertain.

Meyer Burger continues to negotiate with a group of bondholders about restructuring the company.
