No political system is perfect, because it is a human invention, and perfect human beings do not exist. Winston Churchill is credited with the famous phrase that democracy is the least bad of political systems, but even this system suffers from serious problems such as social inequalities, misinformation, excessive polarization between political options, loss of trust in institutions, and, perhaps the most striking of these when exposed, corruption.
