The cattle screwworm could be wiped out with genetic engineering techniques, which would be effective against the pest and ethically justifiable, concludes a study published in the academic journal Science and co-authored by 19 authors from departments of philosophy, biology, and other disciplines at 10 international universities and six independent institutions.
