Belfort. Belflorissimo will celebrate small garden creatures from May 8 to 11.

Belflorissimo opens the city's events calendar each year. It is organized by the Flower Market Association and receives support from various departments of the City of Belfort. Its 41st edition will showcase "useful little creatures" in gardens. The event, which will spread from May 8th over 1,200 m² along the Savoureuse River, between Place Corbis and the Maison des Arts et du Travail, will be full of new features this year. "It will take place over four days thanks to May 8th," emphasizes Deputy Mayor for Commerce Florence Besancenot. It will be promoted by the presence of 17 flower beds in the city. "The commune of Châtenois-les-Forges will be making a comeback," continues the elected official. "And we will have a flower bed designed, for the first time, by three classes from the Sainte-Marie institution."
"The city's gardeners' association doesn't provide free repotting with free potting soil," says Yves Vola, deputy for the environment. "It's been replaced by volunteers from the Association of Workers' Gardens." Belflorissimo , which is also launching the competition for flowered houses and balconies, will bring together a flower market with a selection of perennials, aromatic plants, and perennials, floral arrangements, and vegetable plants. For the garden, terrace, and balcony. But also a wine, food, and craft market. "We will welcome 56 exhibitors," says Michèle Lenuzza, the new president of the Flower Market Association. "And here again, we will have some new products." Among them are expected a Cristal de Baccarat stand, the brewery La Rebelle, with beer and lemonade, a fork sculptor from Étobon, and many other merchants specializing in wines, gourmet products, and crafts.
"We've had so many requests from exhibitors that we've had to turn some away due to lack of space," says Jean-Marc Funck, a volunteer with the Flower Market Association. "But Belforissimo will host a stand from the City and Greater Belfort's Living Environment Department."
The flower market will have a family area with workshops (floral, balloon sculpting, pebble decoration on pallets, snails with marbles, ladybugs made from paper flowers, etc.) on May 8 and May 10 and 11 between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. This program will be complemented by the installation of an inflatable structure.
Open Thursday 8, Friday 9 and Saturday 10 May from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
