Bidart: the move to Domaine Source Royale is imminent

Bidart: the move to Domaine Source Royale is imminent

After years of waiting, the new owners and tenants of Domaine Source Royale in Bidart will soon be able to move into their homes.

After several years of waiting, prolonged by legal appeals, all of which were rejected, construction is nearing completion, and the first buildings will be delivered. On Tuesday, July 1st, the town hall held a meeting in the Gidalekua Hall with the new BRS owners, future tenants, and the social landlord HSA.

The aim was to mark the occasion, welcome the new arrivals and also recall the tribulations that had punctuated this journey, which was anything but smooth sailing, to finally lead to this project of 140 housing units, more than 80% of which were at controlled prices.

No second home

The mayor clarified that the new beneficiaries were all from Bidart or surrounding communities, with no second homes included in this program. Lausseni Sangaré, director of Habitat Sud Atlantique, the social housing provider, said: "You have to be courageous to create affordable housing." He praised the tenacity of the communities working on this.

"The Source Royale program isn't just about housing; it's an entire ecosystem that offers a remarkable quality of life thanks to the proximity of shops, which financed the cycle path, the student residence, the daycare, and the DIY store that will open next year. But," he adds, "the cardinal point for living well together is respecting each other in order to be respected. Zero tolerance for those who cause problems; 300 candidates are still on the waiting list!"

Participate in the common good

The lucky ones must seize the opportunity given to them and strive to contribute to the common good. A member of the Bil Ta Garbi union reminds us of the cardinal rules of waste sorting, for peaceful cohabitation management.

The average age of homeowners is 36, with 60% of them from Bidart and 40% from the surrounding communities. Lausseni Sangaré presents Gecosol, a joint management company that supports first-time buyers in all their housing-related matters. "The buildings are high-quality, and we will help you live in them as well as possible." The keys will be handed over on July 7.
