Around ten people took part this Sunday afternoon in the Ried Erstein Nature Association's (ANRE) outing; the first dedicated to wild plants and their transformation into herbal teas and liqueurs. This free walk took place in the polder massif, outside the nature reserve where picking is strictly prohibited.

  • Remy Steyer, a member of ANRE and specialist in homemade liqueurs made from wild plants, offered a two-part tasting.
  • Wild hop cones, in herbal tea, have also been used for a very long time to relieve anxiety and promote sleep.

"The idea isn't to fill your head with fifty plants," Pierre Hieber, president of the Ried Erstein Nature Association (ANRE), immediately stated, before adding that the outing organized this Sunday afternoon was not pharmaceutical. "This is an initial approach, and everyone is free to continue their research according to their needs and/or desires."
