Good weather and “summer temperatures” expected next week in southern Quebec

Above-normal temperatures are expected throughout next week in the south and center of the province.
In Montreal, the mercury will rise to 28°C on Monday and to 27°C on Tuesday, according to data from Environment Canada.
In Quebec City, the expected temperatures for the first two days of the week are 25°C and 26°C, respectively, while in Saguenay, they are 21°C and 26°C.
"A warm air mass will sweep across the southern part of the province next week," said Environment Canada meteorologist Eric Tomlinson. "We're expecting more summer temperatures than spring temperatures."
These will be between 5 and 7°C above the seasonal averages, which are between 19 and 20°C in May at Montreal-Trudeau Airport.
"This trend will continue throughout the week," Tomlinson added.
However, the mercury is not expected to reach 30°C.
While good weather is forecast for the beginning of the week in southern Quebec, precipitation could occur in the middle or end of next week, the meteorologist indicates.
Temperatures closer to seasonal norms are expected the following week.
