The Cailloux spring, located in the forest between La Vaivre-de-Seveux and Motey-sur-Saône, has been polluted by used oil.

On Wednesday, May 14, a regular visitor to the spring came to alert the mayor of Seveux, Jean Noly, of this unpleasant surprise. The chief magistrate, accompanied by his first deputy, Yoann Robert, went to the site to verify the presence of hydrocarbons.

A complaint was filed with the Dampierre-sur-Salon gendarmerie. The used oil was poured right where the water flows. Firefighters from Gray and Dampierre-sur-Salon placed absorbent materials in the small stream downstream from the spring .

The Cailloux spring is particularly known for the quality of its water. Its temperature is constant, summer and winter, reflecting its deep origins. Many people come here to fill up every day. This water is also said to have beneficial properties against kidney stones, which is why it got its name.

In 20 minutes this Friday, May 16, five people came to collect water. They left empty-handed, except for one, a resident of Pont-de-Planches who has been collecting water there for 20 years. He left with 130 liters! "The pollution seems to affect the water after it comes out of the pipe, so the water that flows is good," he said.
