Jura. Installing photovoltaic kits for self-consumption: why not?

The Jurascic cooperative, which specializes in renewable energy, is organizing a conference on Friday, May 16, with a presentation of self-consumption photovoltaic kits that anyone can install themselves.
Jurascic is a Collective Interest Cooperative Society (SCIC), part of the social and solidarity economy family. It works primarily to promote everything that's happening in terms of the energy transition. A welcome initiative, rather in keeping with the times, is the one that will take place at the end of this week, namely the presentation of photovoltaic kits for home installation. With a dual objective: promoting soft energy and reducing your electricity bill, in a completely autonomous manner.
The community center, late Friday afternoon, will host a conference led by, among others, Jean-Pierre Bresson, administrator of Solarcoop, another cooperative company specializing in photovoltaics, originally from the Lyon region. To illustrate the point, and for those who would like to see firsthand what such a project represents, the conference will be followed the next morning at 9 a.m. by a concrete demonstration of an installation in a private home.

The conference, coupled with a practical demonstration, should provide a better understanding of this equipment. It is attracting more and more French people, even though they are still few in number, with only 2% of homes equipped in France, compared to 20% in the Netherlands. The kit, which can be installed yourself or with the help of Jura members of the Jurascic cooperative, consists of 1, 2, 3, or 4 panels installed on your roof or in your garden.

The number of panels is determined by personal consumption, with the understanding that there's no need to over-equip yourself. "Experience also shows that self-consumption contributes to energy efficiency. That's the other desired benefit," confirms Patrick Longchamp, administrator of Jurascic. Reducing your electricity bill by €100 to €150 per year for an investment of around €1,000 is no small feat. What's more, it's an eco-responsible approach. Since its creation, the Solarcoop cooperative has delivered 6,000 kits in France, including more than 300 in the Jura region.
Conference: Friday, May 16 at 6 p.m. at the Social Center, 2 rue de Pavigny, Lons-le-Saunier. Practical demonstration at a private home: Saturday, May 17 at 9 a.m.
