Elected officials voted against the construction of a pellet plant in the Mélincols business park on Tuesday, July 8, during the community council meeting. In a very close vote, with 39 against, 37 for, and 11 abstentions, the elected officials rejected the sale of the land to the company behind the EO2 project.

They had been in discussions with an entrepreneur from Auvergne for three years. He planned to produce 120,000 tons of wood pellets per year.

Strong opposition
