Loire. The commune of Renaison declared in a state of natural disaster

Due to the lack of significant rainfall in early 2023 and the drought in 2022, the Renaison dams were only half full before the arrival of spring.
To preserve this water resource, the union then demanded an exemption on the quantity of water returned downstream to the river. It also opened the interconnection at the Commelle-Vernay station. The then Minister of Ecological Transition, Christophe Béchu, met with the basin prefects to take stock of the water scarcity problems facing the regions and the measures to be taken to preserve the resource for this summer. The water shortage was measurable almost everywhere, as at the Roannaise Water Union.
