Lorraine. Wetlands: You need them, they need you.

Behind the devastating reality that 50 to 80% of wetlands have already disappeared, lies a glimmer of hope: laws exist to preserve them. But to take concrete action, scientists and specialists need the support of local elected officials and the widespread support of the population.

Victims of urbanization and high-productivity agriculture, wetlands are deserting the landscape. This is serious because they store carbon. Serious because they filter water.
