Lyon. Secret trails soon to be reopened to the public: we'll take you to the Parc des Balmes in Fourvière.

How long has it been since these sloping grounds of Fourvière Hill saw any visitors? And the gates meant to keep the public out have remained locked? Probably several decades, even though these places, called the Balmes de Fourvière (or steep hillsides), are watched over by local authorities like a hawk. Somewhat mysterious and often little-known, these sometimes fragile sites, which have often become reservoirs of biodiversity, contain exceptional views of the city.
And it is precisely to allow the people of Lyon to discover some of its contours that the City of Lyon plans to create new nature trails on part of this balme, the centerpieces of a future Balmes park. The first developments carried out by the landscapers of the BigBang agency are scheduled for Place Abbé-Larue in September 2025.
