Pont-à-Mousson. Thermal sieves: after the renovation of the music school, the Guynemer group will be undergoing work this summer

"School users have already felt a difference." Since the beginning of the year, the Charles-Boquet Music School has been undergoing energy renovations. Even before the project was finished, students and staff appreciated the change.
This work is part of the renovations of public buildings launched in 2023 by the municipality. After carrying out an assessment, the first projects began in 2024. On the agenda for this first year: the renovation of the Procheville group , the Red Cross premises and the Saint-Jean annex, whose exterior joinery was replaced throughout the building. But only the Restos du Cœur premises were insulated before winter. "All the interior space opening onto the exterior has been completed. During this winter, the volunteers saw the difference," emphasizes Henry Lemoine .
The music school still needed to be insulated. "We started this work in January." All of the interior insulation had to be done. The ground and first-floor corridors, the stairwell, and seven classrooms were insulated. "The bulk of the work was done during the holiday periods. The schedule was agreed upon with the music school staff." Thus, the Christmas, February, and Easter holidays allowed the project to be almost completed. "One or two classes were held in person."
To install the insulation, the workers removed the radiators. "Today, there are only one or two left to replace and the music school will be finished." In total, replacing the exterior window frames cost €142,000. As for the insulation, €86,000 was spent.
The music school isn't the only building to be renovated this year. Since the beginning of January, the Centre social des 2 rives building has also been undergoing energy renovations. "The return should be scheduled for September 1st ," announced the mayor. Later, it will be the turn of the Guynemer school. When the budget was announced, the opposition pointed out the Guynemer group 's sole presence in the 2025 renovation schedule.
As with Procheville, work will begin at the start of the summer holidays. "Guynemer is a school built without any insulation and with thermal bridges," explains Clément Sosoé, the works delegate. The construction site is expected to last all summer so that the building is ready for the start of the school year.
