Portes de Rosheim. The community of communes pools mowing to preserve biodiversity.
On Wednesday, April 30, the Portes de Rosheim community of communes launched an initiative to pool mowing and maintenance work for orchards and meadows within its territory. Aimed at owners, tenants, businesses, and municipalities, this unprecedented initiative is supported by the League for the Protection of Birds.
The Portes de Rosheim Community of Communes (CCPR) started from an observation: many owners or tenants often carry out drastic maintenance of their orchards, "often due to a lack of resources," which is detrimental to flora and fauna. The community therefore decided to launch an operation to pool the mowing of the area's orchards and meadows.
