Skipper Kevin Escoffier sent to correctional court for sexual assault

Skipper Kevin Escoffier has been referred to the Lorient Criminal Court for sexual assault and will be tried next March, we learned this Friday, May 16, from the city's prosecutor's office, confirming a report from "Canard Enchaîné."

Eric Pouder, deputy public prosecutor of Lorient, confirmed that Kevin Escoffier, 45, was being sent to the correctional court and was due to be tried on March 30, 2026, by the Lorient court for sexual assault following four complaints against him.

In early February, the Breton sailor was taken into custody "for sexual assault" against four complainants, the Lorient prosecutor's office said at the time. This investigation was a follow-up to the judicial inquiry opened in July 2023 by the Paris prosecutor's office and transferred to the Lorient prosecutor's office concerning an alleged sexual assault in May 2023 against a young woman in Newport, in the United States, the Lorient prosecutor's office said.
