It was over 30 degrees Celsius for 15 days in 2025 in Montreal, half of July.
The normal for the same period in the metropolis is seven days, according to data published by Environment Canada.
Residents in the Gatineau region of Outaouais experienced 16 days of temperatures above 30°C in July, compared to nine days normally.
So far, summer heat has been very present this year in southern Quebec. In fact, highs of 30°C have been about twice as frequent as normal in these areas since the start of the season. #meteoQC pic.twitter.com/FzM2xGP1Lq

In the Sherbrooke area, too, the number of days with temperatures above 30 degrees is higher than normal, although there were fewer than in Montreal or Gatineau.
In this region, there were nine days of intense heat in total, while the normal is four days.
While Quebec will experience a brief lull in the heat on Thursday and Friday, temperatures are expected to rise again, reaching close to 30 degrees Celsius on Sunday in some areas, including Montreal.
