Vry. A remarkable chestnut tree broken by the wind

The strong winds at the beginning of the month destroyed a more than century-old chestnut tree in Vry. The tree snapped. No other material damage or casualties were reported.
According to Fernand Hoffmann, who is somewhat the village's memory: "This chestnut tree is most certainly well over a hundred years old, but I couldn't be more precise. At the time of the Liberation of Vry, three army GMCs could already take shelter underneath it, so large was its size."
The municipal team cut out and removed what could be removed, thus ensuring the safety of the area.
