Weather. Heatwave: Corsica still on orange alert this Sunday and Monday
The heatwave is gradually coming to an end. The orange heatwave alert was lifted in the last affected departments this Sunday morning. Except for Corsica, which remains at this alert level until Monday, Météo-France announced.
Drop in temperatures"A significant drop in temperatures will finally reach the Mediterranean arc on Sunday afternoon, reaching Corsica on Monday," the meteorological service forecasts in its 6:00 a.m. bulletin.
"Most departments will therefore be lifted from the orange heatwave alert on Sunday morning, except for Corsica, which is not expected to be lifted until Monday after a very hot Sunday and night from Sunday to Monday," adds Météo-France.
On Wednesday and Thursday, most of France experienced the final days of a heatwave that will go down in history for its early onset, duration and record temperatures.
