CDP: 2.4 billion for infrastructure, SMEs and exports


CDP has approved new operations for 2.4 billion euros , to modernize strategic infrastructures in the transport and energy sectors . With this operation , Cassa Depositi e Prestiti also aims to support Italian SMEs and promote exports to non-EU markets . The initiative also includes international cooperation interventions, with projects for the energy efficiency of companies in the Middle East and the strengthening of trade between Italy and countries outside the European Union.
Interventions have been authorized to accelerate investment programs of companies active in sectors relevant to the Country System: in particular, the Board of Directors has given the green light to initiatives to support strategic infrastructures with the aim of modernizing and making the electricity distribution network, roads and road transport more efficient. The new resources will also be used to develop internationalization plans of large Italian companies operating at a European level.
In line with the 2025-2027 Strategic Plan , the Board of Directors has approved initiatives that, thanks to the synergies between Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and leading financial institutions operating in the area , facilitate access to credit for smaller Italian companies , promoting their development.
Furthermore, new financing has been approved to promote exports and the competitiveness of large national groups with the aim of further increasing their positioning on global markets. The approved initiatives will also allow the creation of value for the reference industrial supply chains with a positive impact on employment levels.
In line with its role as a Financial Institution for Development Cooperation, the Board of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti has approved operations with foreign financial intermediaries with the aim of expanding their credit portfolio in favor of companies operating in the Middle East , mainly SMEs, and projects in favor of energy efficiency . These are initiatives that will also allow the commercial presence of Italian companies on non-EU markets to be increased.
