Coldplay, all albums will be reissued on EcoRecord vinyl made of recycled plastic

Coldplay's commitment to sustainability continues: the British band has announced that it will reissue its entire discography on EcoRecord vinyl, made entirely from recycled plastic bottles.
Unlike traditional vinyl, the EcoRecords chosen by Coldplay maintain the same sound quality and appearance, but are produced using only recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET), a lightweight, recyclable material with a lower environmental impact both during production and at the end of its life.
Each 140-gram, injection-molded disc is equivalent to the reuse of approximately nine plastic bottles. The bottles are recovered through post-consumer recycling, then washed, transformed into pellets and shaped into new music media. Coldplay has specified that these products will be made exclusively from rPET.
“We are incredibly proud to collaborate with artists like Coldplay, who share our commitment to a more sustainable future for music,” commented Jen Ivory , Managing Director of Parlophone, “The move to EcoRecords represents not just a new type of product, but a real change in the way physical media is produced, with a significantly reduced environmental impact and without compromising on sound quality. It is an example of how innovation and vision can go hand in hand.”
The initiative is part of the group's broader commitment to environmental sustainability and follows the results already achieved with the Music of the Spheres world tour, whose carbon footprint was reduced by 59% compared to previous tours. Their latest work, Moon Music, has already been released on EcoRecord media in 100% recycled PET.
