IFRS Launches New Online Courses on ISSB Standards to Prepare Companies for Transition
ISSB | ESGnews

The IFRS Foundation has created new e-learning courses , available in theIFRS Sustainability Knowledge online hub, to help companies learn more about the standards issued by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) .

The four modules accessible for free are:

  • Introduction to IFRS sustainability reporting standards;
  • Introduction to IFRS S1 general requirements for the disclosure of financial information relating to sustainability;
  • Introduction to IFRS S2 Climate-related disclosures;
  • Integrated sustainability disclosures and organizational considerations.

Each module includes both written and video content and, at the end of the lesson, users can also take a multiple choice test that will allow them to obtain a final certificate of participation in the course. In addition, participants who are members of professional accounting orders will also be able to obtain CPD/CPE credits .

“The ISSB is committed to supporting companies in implementing our Standards. We understand the need for accessible and practical resources to help preparers understand and apply IFRS S1 and IFRS S2. This e-learning course, along with our library of training materials, will provide the knowledge needed to understand our Standards and implement them effectively, with the goal of providing investors with decision-making, globally comparable sustainability information,” said Sue Lloyd , Vice President of the ISSB.

According to a recent IFRS communication , 36 jurisdictions have already adopted or are using the IFRS standards for sustainability reporting (the ISSB Standards), or are in the process of finalizing the necessary steps to introduce them into their regulatory frameworks.

The courses will thus be able to help expand this number by supporting the global adoption and implementation of ISSB standards, thus also responding to market demands.

The e-learning modules demonstrate the IFRS Foundation's ongoing commitment to supporting the global adoption and implementation of ISSB standards, responding to market demand for practical tools. In addition to these courses, it is also possible to access in-depth courses, such as the FSA Credential, the most advanced credential related to ISSB standards.
