Sport as a lever for redemption and social inclusion : this is the spirit with which the ninth edition of the Mediobanca Sport Camp kicks off, the initiative that promotes the reintegration of young prisoners through team play, sharing and respect for the rules.

The Camp is back again this year at the Juvenile Penal Institute of Nisida, in Naples , with the program including five days until July 4th of sports activities led by the former champion of the Italian national rugby team Diego Dominguez, supported by his team, who will also be the exceptional coach of the 80 young participants this year. The kids, between 14 and 18 years old, will compete in rugby, football, basketball and other disciplines, supported by a group of volunteers from Mediobanca .

During the Camp, athletes and volunteers will meet young inmates to share experiences and transmit, through sport, fundamental values such as respect, discipline and self-confidence, thus contributing to creating an environment of growth and new perspectives. The positive results of previous editions of the initiative, in the juvenile penitentiaries of Naples and Milan, have encouraged Mediobanca to renew the experience, strengthening its commitment to promoting trust, collaboration and a sense of belonging among young inmates.

“Each edition of the Camp reminds us how sport can be a bridge between different worlds,” said Giovanna Giusti del Giardino , Group Chief Sustainability Officer of Mediobanca. “In Nisida we found enthusiasm, a desire to get involved and a contagious energy. It is a privilege for us to be able to contribute to building new prospects for these kids.”
