Kalyon PV announced that it has signed an investment agreement with an international system supplier for the design and installation of the industrial facility infrastructure that will implement this technology within the scope of TOPCon Plus solar cell production.

According to the company statement, Kalyon PV, the first production facility in Europe and one of the few in the world to carry out ingot, wafer, solar cell and panel production processes under a single roof, including R&D, has signed a new investment agreement integrated with the TOPCon Plus cell production facility.

This investment, a critical component of TOPCon Plus production, focuses on redesigning the auxiliary infrastructure. The facility, scheduled to be commissioned early next year, is designed to support all production processes for the 1,100-megawatt TOPCon Plus solar cell production technology.

With this strategic investment, Kalyon PV aims to add value not only to advanced technology but also to Türkiye's industrial capacity. Furthermore, while a strategic partnership has been established with an international company for the facility infrastructure, a significant portion of the project budget is intended to be allocated to domestic suppliers. This approach aims to directly contribute to the localization of solar energy technologies and the expansion of high-value-added production in Türkiye.

The integration of domestic equipment manufacturers into the project allows for the development of knowledge and technical competencies in this field, while also contributing to the establishment of a sustainable and resilient supply chain. This creates the environment that will encourage increased similar technology investments in Turkey.

New-generation, high-efficiency solar cells enable the production of more electricity from the same area, significantly contributing to the company's competitiveness in global markets. This new infrastructure investment is positioned as a critical component of enabling advanced technology-based production.

“More efficient products will be produced in solar technologies”

Kalyon PV General Manager Dr. İhsan Kulalı, whose views were included in the statement, emphasized the importance of sustainability in technology development and strengthening Türkiye's production capabilities in this area, saying, "The Auxiliary Facilities-Industrial Facility Infrastructure Investment, which we are carrying out simultaneously with the TOPCon Plus solar cell investment, which allows us to develop more efficient products, is a critical step for our TOPCon Plus solar cell production, which will be the first in the world outside of China."

Kulalı noted that the auxiliary facilities investment is a strong reflection of the company's technological superiority as well as its sustainability vision, adding:

Improving and enhancing our production lines and infrastructure in line with future technologies allows us to produce more efficient products in solar technologies, while also contributing significantly to our sustainability goals in terms of the effective and efficient use of water, energy, and human resources. We are also delighted to be collaborating with our domestic suppliers on this investment process to expand our country's solar technology ecosystem. This approach is part of our efforts to build not only today but also the clean and domestic energy vision of the future. As Kalyon PV, we not only produce solar panels within our vision of "A Turkey rising like the sun in renewable energy," but we are also pioneering the development of solar technologies in our country.
