No recess for the Parliamentary Energy Commission

Energy Diary - The Turkish Grand National Assembly Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology Committee will be able to work during the Parliament's recess or adjournment.
A decision was made to allow the Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology Committees, which are among the important committees in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM), to function during periods when the Parliament is not in session.

The Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information, and Technology Committee is a permanent specialized committee operating in accordance with the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Rules of Procedure. The committee discusses bills referred to it by the Presidency of the TBMM concerning petroleum, electricity, natural gas, LPG markets, renewable energy, and other energy-related matters, as well as mining, trade, industry, consumer rights, competition law, trademarks, patents, utility models, geographical indications, the sugar market, R&D, accreditation, and similar matters.

In the 28th Legislative Term, the number of members of the Commission was set at twenty-seven. The Commission consists of 13 members from the AKP, 6 from the CHP, 3 from the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM), 2 from the MHP, 2 from the İYİ Party, and 1 from the SP.
