Danish Nordic Solar’s second park connected to Lithuanian grid

Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid has connected to the grid a solar power plant park in Švenčionys district developed by the Danish company Nordic Solar, with a permissible generation capacity of 60 MW and an installed capacity of 80 MWp. The park has started pilot generation.
The Danish company in Lithuania„Lithuania pays a lot of attention to its ambitious energy goals, and one of the means to achieve this is renewable energy projects. We are proud to contribute to this development,” said Nikolaj Holtet Hoff, CEO of Nordic Solar.
In 2024, Nordic Solar commissioned the company’s first, and the country’s largest solar park to date, in Molètai, with a production capacity of 100 MWp. Nordic Solar and Swedbank signed project financing agreement for borth projects.
Renewables in LithuaniaThe total installed capacity of Lithuania’s solar and wind power plants, combined with transmission and distribution networks, is currently 4112 MW, accounting for more than half of the country’s total electricity production capacity.
The National Energy Independence Strategy envisages that by 2030, the growth of consumption and export opportunities will create conditions for connecting about 10 GW of renewable energy production capacities to the Lithuanian electricity transmission network.
