Elementl partners Google on three advanced nuclear energy sites in US

US-based nuclear development company Elementl Power has formed a strategic partnership with tech giant Google to pre-position three US sites for advanced nuclear energy development. Google is committing early-stage development capital to the projects.
Each will generate a minimum of 600MW of power.
Elementl continues to evaluate potential technology, engineering, procurement and construction partners.
The company is prioritising the accelerated development of specific sites to achieve its goal to bring more than 10GW of power online in the US by 2035.
Google global head of data centre energy Amanda Peterson Corio stated: “Google is committed to catalysing projects that strengthen the power grids where we operate, and advanced nuclear technology provides reliable, baseload, 24/7 energy.
“Our collaboration with Elementl Power enhances our ability to move at the speed required to meet this moment of AI and American innovation.”
Google’s investment in Elementl Power’s advanced nuclear energy projects represents a step towards meeting the demand for clean baseload power. Google will have the option for commercial off-take once the projects are completed.
Elementl Power chairman and CEO Chris Colbert stated: “Innovative partnerships like this are necessary to mobilise the capital required to build new nuclear projects, which are critical to deliver safe, affordable and clean baseload power and help companies advance their long-term net zero goals.
“We look forward to working with Google to execute these projects and bring safe, carbon-free baseload electricity to the grid.”
The collaboration between Elementl Power and Google aims to identify and advance new projects in collaboration with utility and regulated power partners.
Elementl Power co-founder and president Ryan Mills stated: “My partners and I launched Elementl Power in 2022 to solve a critical industry need and serve as a catalyst for private capital formation in advanced nuclear projects.
“This partnership with Google represents a significant milestone in Elementl Power’s growth trajectory.”
In March 2025, Google and Amazon pledged to back a three-fold minimum increase in global nuclear energy capacity by 2050.
