EU energy commissioner: Russian gas shutdown means short-term uptick of fossil fuel output

A halt to gas imports from Russia to the EU will have consequences for European oil and gas production, which in some places will rise again, says EU Commissioner of Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen in response to a question from EnergyWatch about whether he recognizes that the pursuit of rapid energy independence in the EU means a return to the oil and gas industry in Denmark.
