The Hai Long project is located 45-70km off the coast of Changhua County, at depths ranging from 35m to 60m.
It includes Hai Long 2 and Hai Long 3 and comprises a total of 73 turbines.
The contract encompasses the inspection of newly installed offshore substations, as well as the inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of transition pieces, subsea foundations, and various other structural components.
Additional tasks such as subsea cable inspections and onshore substation operations are scheduled to begin shortly.
The Hai Long project is set to commence commercial operations by late 2026, providing more than 1GW of installed capacity.
Hai Long project CEO and project director Tim Kittelhake said: “As the largest offshore wind project in APAC [Asia-Pacific], we have signed over 100 contracts with Taiwanese suppliers during [the] construction phase, with a total value exceeding $4bn.
“Now, as we move toward grid connection and prepare to enter the O&M phase, we are confident that IOG Wind’s strong technical expertise and mature management capabilities will ensure the stable, safe, and efficient operation of the Hai Long wind farm after commercial operation, while also supporting the long-term development of Taiwan’s offshore wind supply chain.”
IOG chair Vincent Tsai said: “We are truly honoured to have secured this significant contract with the Hai Long project. Since its establishment, IOG Wind has consistently expanded its service scope and strengthened local execution capabilities, supported by a professional team of sales, engineers and resilient project management expertise.
