Korean LS Cables moves forward with big plans for European cable plant

Competition in the European market for high-voltage cables looks set to increase by around 25%. Plans to establish a cable factory at the port of Tyne in northern England were submitted for a five-week public consultation on Wednesday. If it goes ahead, it is estimated that the investment will be around GBP 923m and create more than 500 jobs.
