Upgraded FSRU returns to Krk

After 55 days of maintenance and upgrades at the Kuzey Star Shipyard in Turkey, the FSRU LNG Croatia has returned to the Krk LNG terminal.
Following the installation and commissioning of the new regasification module and the five-year class renewal works, the vessel has successfully moored at the terminal in Omišalj on the island of Krk.
The coming days will be dedicated to preparation for commissioning, including final and system testing, not only of the FSRU, but also of the onshore facilities, to ensure a safe and reliable start of commercial operations on 26 October 2025.
The upgrade is part of the Krk LNG terminal capacity expansion, which aims to increase the regasification capacity from the current approximately 2.9 billion cubic metres to 6.1 billion cubic metres by 2026.
Ivan Fugaš, Managing Director of LNG Croatia, spoke to CEENERGYNEWS about the developments.
