In the cover story we introduce Astrid Brandt. She heads up user coordination at the Helmholtz Center Berlin. With her team, she always keeps an overview of applications, measurement times and publications of the up to 1,000 guest researchers who come to BESSY II every year. She has always been fascinated by the natural sciences.
But her second passion, music, has not let go of her to this day.
