"Climate damage: it's not up to us to pay the bill!": a demonstration organized this Saturday in Oullins

A rally is being organized this Saturday, May 17, from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the forecourt of Oullins Town Hall by the Greenpeace association.
To ensure that oil, gas and coal companies "are held accountable for the damage they cause and pay their fair share" , the local Greenpeace group is organising a rally this Saturday, May 17, from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in front of Oullins Town Hall.
In its press release published on May 14, Greenpeace explains: "While we collectively pay the bill for the consequences of the climate crisis on our homes, our health, and our livelihoods, big oil and gas companies are raking in record profits." The activists urge the government to "tax these companies commensurate with the damage they have caused." They add: "The money raised must help people in France and around the world rebuild in the face of climate disasters. It must also finance the ecological transition and adaptation to climate change."
Greenpeace also states that this gathering has above all an "educational" purpose and "will highlight the unbearable bill that multinational fossil fuel companies leave us and their responsibility in the climate crisis."
