Heavy rain, strong winds and even possible hail are forecast by Environment Canada.

The storm watch extends from the Capitale-Nationale region to the Outaouais region, passing through Montreal, Laval, Estrie, Centre-du-Québec, Mauricie, Beauce, Charlevoix, the Laurentians, Lanaudière and Montérégie.

The Waskaganish area, in Northern Quebec, is also targeted by this violent storm watch.

In some areas, gusts could reach up to 100 km/h. Significant rainfall is also expected, as well as possible power outages.

Large hailstones are also expected in some areas.

The thunderstorms began in the late morning and will continue until late evening.
