Bourbon-Lancy. Work begins on the second Borne retention basin to limit the damage caused by flooding.

Elected officials still remember that July morning in 2007 when the Borne River overflowed, causing some damage to individuals in the spa district and downstream in Bourbon-Lancy. The idea of retention basins to limit the damage caused by flooding was raised at the time. On Tuesday, Mayor Édith Gueugneau outlined the issues: "This is an issue that the City has been working to move forward on for 15 years. But we knew we were in for a long time. Since then, it has become a community issue. The Saint-Marc retention basin provided an initial response, but it was insufficient. We must protect the economy of a spa resort that welcomes 4,400 spa guests, around a hundred jobs, and local residents."
