Côte-d'Or. Solar panels installed on the roof of the Henry-Berger estate

The departmental council announced in a press release published on July 17 the completion of the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof terrace of the Henry-Berger estate.

The panels cover approximately 200 m2 of the building's surface.

"This installation marks a concrete step towards the local energy transition, ambitiously supported by the Grand Plan Solaire launched in 2023, the objective of which is to accelerate the deployment of solar energy across the region to better address climate change," the council explains.

The installation is expected to produce approximately 44,000 kWh per year, "covering more than 10% of current needs, thus reducing the building's electricity bill by the same amount."

"Thanks to our efforts on energy renovation and greening of vehicle fleets, the Department has reduced its consumption of fluids and fuels by 14%, a saving of 4.5 million euros in 2024. We are continuing our efforts and this inevitably involves the development of solar energy because it is free, inexhaustible and respectful of our landscapes," explains the President of the Department, François Sauvadet.
