Moselle has performed well in this 2025 summer season. During a day of visits dedicated to the development of the tourism economy, the president of the department, Patrick Weiten, unveiled the results of the Moselle Attractiveness summer economic survey. He welcomed an increase in tourist numbers in Moselle in a much more contrasting national context.

On the occasion of a day dedicated to the development of the tourist economy, this Thursday, September 18, the president of the Department, Patrick Weiten , and representatives of Moselle Attractivité came to visit the Rémi Gauthier wine estate in Vic-sur-Seille , the Sainte-Croix animal park in Rhodes as well as the Domaine de l'Éclaircie, a future spa hotel, in Saint-Quirin . The opportunity to present the results of the Moselle Attractivité summer economic survey.

"The tourism sector represents 20,000 jobs in the department. It's a real industry in our sector, and this year, Moselle is one of the rare French regions where visitor numbers are increasing," insists Patrick Weiten. "We have establishments that are rooted in the region and give it a dynamic feel, and I realize that the most beautiful brands are often in rural areas."

"The Moselle region is seeing an 8 to 10% increase in hotel and restaurant occupancy," reports Christophe Thiriet, president of the Union of Hotel Trades and Industries of the Moselle region. This increase in activity particularly affects accommodation. Bed and breakfasts and guesthouses have stable or increasing activity, with Gîtes de France seeing a 20% increase. Unusual accommodations, such as those at Center Parcs or the Sainte-Croix animal park, are showing occupancy rates of over 90%.

This year, Moselle has benefited from a more favorable climate than tourist spots in the south of France, which have been impacted by global warming. "Where it gets very hot in the south, here it becomes completely livable. Let's take advantage of it!" added the president.
