France has gone from a summery feel to an autumnal feel in the space of forty-eight hours. While the week of May 1st was marked by a very early heatwave , with temperatures 10 degrees above normal in the northern half, the thermometer has dropped "spectacularly" , according to Météo France . The cool weather, which reached the northern part of the country on Sunday, May 4th, is expected to become more widespread on Monday, May 5th, reaching the South. This will bring us back to the norm for the beginning of May, or even, in some places, in the northern third of the country, drop to values 2 to 3°C cooler than normal.
Due to this change in the sky, Paris dropped 12 degrees this weekend. In Strasbourg, where it was still 30 degrees on Friday, May 2, only 13 degrees are expected this Monday, a drop of 17 degrees. These high amplitudes, however, do not constitute a warning.
