Illkirch-Graffenstaden. Four peregrine falcons have just been born in the church bell tower and have been ringed.

At the initiative of Michel Wagner, a passionate amateur ornithologist, the City of Illkirch-Graffenstaden and the LPO Alsace installed a peregrine falcon nest box in the bell tower of the Saint-Symphorien church in September 2015. After five years of abandonment, it welcomed a new pair in 2024. Four falcon chicks were recently born there.
A first couple, Flash and Valentine (first names given by the children of the Centre nursery school), took possession of the nest box of the Saint-Symphorien church in Illkirch in 2016, giving birth to three falcons.
