La Rochelle: The Minister Delegate for the Sea inaugurates an exhibition at the Maritime Museum

On Monday, November 3, they gathered at the Maritime Museum of La Rochelle for the inauguration of an exhibition about this crazy project which plans the construction, by 2028, of a huge oceanographic sailing ship with wind propulsion.

Entitled "The Desire for the Avant-Garde," the exhibition is on display until April 30, 2026. It retraces the history of the "Zemajteij" (later renamed "Velox"), launched in 1875 and the inspiration for the future sailing ship, a model of which, unveiled in June, is also on display. Nearly €100 million will be needed for its construction.
