Lunéville. The jury of flower houses toured the various gardens

On Tuesday, July 22nd, the jury members got up early and on the right foot, despite the unpredictable weather, to cross each plot of the town of Lunéville . All this with one goal: to be able to observe and note each garden maintained, decorated and put to its best advantage for the flowered houses competition, the prizes for which will be distributed next October.
This year's theme was "Little by little, the bird builds its nest," and it referred to the very first early childhood conference held in Lunéville. "We chose this theme to reflect this event. So we worked with the conference organizers to choose a theme that would appeal to everyone," explains Catherine Laurain, deputy delegate for parks and gardens.
With this theme, which generated a lot of enthusiasm, several colors were in the spotlight: yellow, orange, and red. "We noticed that this theme appealed to the people of Lunévillois, and they shared it a lot. It's nice to see," adds the deputy mayor. City officials even contributed their bit, since they trimmed plants into "somewhat special" penguins in front of the pool.
Around 10 a.m., the city center team visited Noëlle's home, a retiree who regularly participates in this competition. Flowers of various species, subtle bird displays, and color—everything was there. Even though the weather didn't allow her garden to look its best, the jury members were able to detect variety and harmony—all of which are important judging criteria for the judges.
And Noëlle, at whose house we surprised the jury, gave it her all. Even more so this year, even though this regular had intended not to continue. "The theme totally won me over. I love birds; it's my little pleasure to go out in the morning, listen to their song, and take care of my garden," she says.
For this retiree, who is very close to nature, it was almost inconceivable not to participate. "It was the perfect theme for me," she smiles. "I like mixing flowers, harmonizing them, and I love birds." This is how her garden attracted admiration, right down to her curtains, which also respected the theme.
