  • At first glance, it would seem simpler for all municipalities to be affiliated with a water supply association specializing in sanitation. However, in Jarnisy, several municipalities are keen to maintain their autonomy in managing their wastewater treatment plants. Photo: Marie Koenig
  • In 1975, the Briey sport shooting club set up its targets at Dolhain, near the lake. Today, the association celebrates its 145th anniversary and its 50th anniversary at its Briey facilities. With 230 members, it can boast of having nurtured the seeds of champions. Photo Frédéric Lecocq
  • While Axel Ramponi (12 kilometers) and Franck Bonasso (6 kilometers) set the pace at the Foulée du muguet in Mont-Bonvillers on Thursday, May 1st, the notable guest of the day was unseasonal heat for this day of lily of the valley hunting. A memorable morning for the Tamalous, delighted to record the record number of 223 registrations. Photo Frédéric Lecocq
  • For 75 years, the Lorraine Underground Festival in Tucquegnieux has been attracting crowds on May 1st. Beyond cultivating friendship between former miners, their descendants, and the general public, the event is above all an opportunity for unions, particularly the CGT, to campaign for a world that respects working conditions. • Since the beginning of the year, Valleroy has been the victim of nine burglaries. These incidents, in addition to acts of vandalism and incivility, amplify the feeling of insecurity. The police and the municipality are making every effort to combat these crimes, as was explained during a public meeting. Photo: Fred Lecocq
  • Six ceiling panels of the theater collapsed during the Christmas holidays last year in Jarny. The premises had been cordoned off as a safety precaution. The town hall hopes to reopen next fall, but it will be a long road. For now, experts are on site. Photo by Marie Koenig

The week was packed with news in the Val de Briey and Jarny areas. Henri Leconte attended the Homécourt Book Fair, a fun-filled Lily of the Valley race in Mont-Bonvillers, and the Lorraine Underground Festival in Tucquegnieux, which drew a large crowd. Not to mention a public meeting in Valleroy where safety issues and the ongoing ceiling inspection of the Jarny theater were discussed.
