Rhône. Ozone pollution: yellow alert throughout the department

With the heatwave currently hitting France, the Rhône region has been placed on yellow alert for ozone pollution starting this Friday, June 20.
Starting this Friday, June 20, the entire Rhône department is on yellow alert for pollution. This episode is due to solar radiation on primary pollutants, precursors of ozone, emitted by human activities.
The heatwave expected this weekend has caused the information and recommendation thresholds for ozone concentrations in the air to be exceeded, particularly in the North Lyon-Isère basin and the Rhône Valley. The heatwave could amplify this phenomenon, and new levels could be reached over the weekend.
The prefecture recommends limiting travel on major roads during rush hour and limiting intense activities.
