Saint-Loup-Géanges. Photovoltaics are in place

As early as 2009, the former municipal team of Saint-Loup-Géanges had conducted a study for the installation of photovoltaic panels. The file was then abandoned, because the cost of the operation and the amortization time were far too high. In 2024, following new advantageous measures put in place by the State for self-consumption, the current elected officials reopened the file, which today results in an installation of 82 panels on the south roof of the multipurpose hall. The work will produce 40,000 kWh, of which 72% will be self-consumed and 28% resold for a modest sum of 7 cents per kWh, or even less... Note that in 2009, the kWh was resold at 60 cents!
The surface area is approximately 100 m². The panels, 95% recyclable, will produce electricity and distribute it administratively to the ten municipal buildings. They will not cover all needs (approximately 110,000 kW per year), but will significantly reduce costs. The operation cost a total of €33,600 including tax. The self-consumption bonus represents €6,840, leaving the municipality with €26,760 to cover. Expecting annual savings of €8,800, the operation will be amortized in three years. The municipality has taken out hail insurance, and the panels are guaranteed for 30 years.
The supplier selected following the call for tenders is PCI, a company based in Chenôves, south of Buxy. Installation took two days. All that remains is for Enedis to approve the contract before production can begin.
