Saône-et-Loire. Air quality: a red alert for grass pollen

The Atmo Bourgogne/Franche-Comté network is on red alert across all departments in the region regarding the presence of pollen in the air.
In Saône-et-Loire, this pollen alert is based solely on grass pollen . It comes from grasses that are currently growing tall: oats, corn, wheat in crops, but also tall grasses in fields and along roadsides.
According to Elise Darlay, a communications officer at Atmo and pollen analyst, grass pollination could last until July , making those who were sensitive until then uncomfortable. Any rains will bring a respite by sticking the pollen to the ground.
