An alarm clock for early risers or a lullaby for insomniacs through endless nights, the black redstart is the first to pierce the tranquility of the night with its melodies. "The song is very recognizable since it is the only one to chirp for several minutes at dawn," explains Jean-Marc Bronner, vice-president of the LPO Alsace. Adjusted according to the light, the black redstart's vocalizations precede sunrise by 30 to 45 minutes each day.
