Up to 70 mm of rain, hail and possible tornado: an eventful Saturday in Montérégie and Estrie

A tornado may have struck the municipality of Howick, in Montérégie, on Saturday, as severe weather raged in the area.
Environment Canada reports that between 50 and 70 millimetres of rain fell in Sherbrooke and surrounding areas.
Small hail was also observed in some places.
The federal agency also claims to have received a video that shows a possible tornado near the municipality of Howick, in Montérégie.
It is said to have occurred around 7 p.m.
"At this time, no damage has been reported," Environment Canada said in its weather summary. "An investigation will be conducted to confirm that it was indeed a tornado."
Conditions were difficult across the province on May 17.
In Mauricie, Lac-Saint-Jean and Bois-Francs, between 40 and 50 millimeters of rain fell.
Some roads were flooded in these areas, Environment Canada confirmed.
A tree was also uprooted in Papineauville, in Outaouais, due to strong winds.
Rain is expected again on Sunday and Monday across the province, which will see showers almost every day this week.
Snow could also join the party in more northern regions on Sunday evening.
