Video. Francofolies de La Rochelle 2025: Violette Dorange's secrets, all set to music

But after a month at sea, disaster struck. "Since my phone hadn't been connected to the network for a long time, all my downloads were erased. I didn't have any music for two weeks; it was horrible. Afterward, my team managed to send me 25 songs. When I listened to Billie Eilish again for the first time, it was incredibly moving," the sailor recalls.

This meeting at the Francofolies was above all an opportunity to reflect on her Vendée Globe through five songs. First, the preparations, which were long and tedious, which Violette Dorange sums up with "I'll Go Where You Go" by Céline Dion and Jean-Jacques Goldman. Then the departure, so overwhelming. "I don't think I've ever been so moved," says the young woman, who sums up this moment with the song "Tell Me [If I Should Leave or Not]" by BB Brunes, a hit that marked the 2000 generation.

Once she left, the adventurer sailed down the Atlantic Ocean to the Cape of Good Hope, a powerful moment that she sums up wonderfully with the song "Transatlantique" by Thérapie Taxi, like a meditative journey: "a moment when everything was going well." The calm before the two weeks of storm that the Indian Ocean had in store for her, summarized in "Le Mystère abyssal" by the group MPL. Before returning to Les Sables-d'Olonne, 90 days later, "after having traveled around the world" as Orelsan says in "La Terre est ronde." It's so well found.
