Oil prices recover but Russian sanctions loom

Oil prices stabilized early Friday morning but then rose when US President Donald Trump said he would make a significant announcement about Russia, increasing the prospect of further sanctions against the major oil producer. At the same time, concerns about tariffs and rising production from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and its OPEC+ allies are dampening the increases, reports Reuters.
