Digital Village: Discovering the Cognitive Building

A building that learns, reasons, responds, and adapts to people's needs: the concept of a cognitive building takes concrete shape at Smart Building Expo 2025 in the Digital Village . In practice, the Digital Village is an integrated ecosystem of infrastructure, automation, and lighting in a single immersive experience focused on people's well-being . For visitors to SBE 2025, it's concrete proof of how technology—in this case, from three complementary companies—and design can find the ideal fulcrum.

At the heart of the cognitive building is Molex Power over Ethernet (PoE) , which interconnects the Enmasy/Lux Italia lighting systems and Somfy automations. This demonstrates how the convergence of IT and OT can enable digital control of every function. Furthermore, through the CoreSync IoT monitoring platform , each device communicates, collects data, and learns. The result is a truly cognitive and future-proof environment. A "sensitive" organism, capable of learning and consequently self-regulating to maintain comfort, efficiency, and sustainability.

Smart lighting takes center stage in the interior spaces. Molex automatic dimming systems blend natural and artificial light from Enmasy/Lux Italia fixtures, while dynamic white embraces the circadian cycle, improving visual comfort. The company adds emotional dimension to the Digital Village with high-efficiency linear lamps: Grappolo Tunable White and Sparklaris . Two solutions that combine energy savings and comfort, creating scenarios that promote multifunctional well-being and concentration.

This is complemented by Somfy 's Sonesse 30 automation solutions, shading systems that automatically adapt to light and wind, ensuring thermal comfort and savings . The system is completed by advanced sensors for space occupancy, air quality (PM, CO₂, VOC), temperature, humidity, and brightness, which converge in the Molex dashboard. This allows the collected data to become "knowledge" for shaping adaptive spaces.
